Texas Paycheck – What to Expect
Texas has no state income tax. Your net pay is still shaped by federal withholding, FICA, and any deductions you enter (401k, health premiums, etc.).
Inputs That Matter
- Gross pay and pay frequency set your per-period base.
- Pretax deductions (401k, cafeteria plans) commonly reduce taxable wages for federal income tax.
- Additional withholding lets you model extra flat amounts if your employer withholds more.
How the Model Works
We annualize per-period wages, estimate federal withholding, compute FICA, then convert back to the chosen frequency. With no TX state income tax, the state layer contributes no additional withholding.
Tips
- If you want a specific take-home target, adjust pretax contributions or additional withholding and compare results.
- Recheck after raises or bonuses—annualization changes matter.
